“It’s showtime! You’re talking to your son, I’m speaking with you. I love you”
The above are the opening remarks made by a son in spirit, Dj, to his mom, Lisa in a session that I held back in December 2021. At the time, I thought “It’s Showtime” was a little unusual for a beginning comment but Lisa didn’t mention anything and so we continued on. Later on in the session, Lisa shared with me that “Showtime” was the name Dj had given to his truck. Such an ingenious way to bring evidence through at the beginning of our session.
Immediately following his “showtime” remark, Dj brought up the topic of his accident, stating that he knew his mom wanted to talk about what happened. Dj talked about a collision and mentioned another person being too close, that it was over before he knew it, that he didn’t feel any pain. He mentioned dinner time before the collision, that drinks had been on the table but they had not been drinking. He mentioned trying to get away in the seconds before the accident happened, trying to avoid the collision. Later in the session, Lisa shared with me that it was a snowmobile collision.
Dj then mentioned that the other person that was involved, that what he had in his system didn’t help him. Dj’s mom confirmed at this point that the other person had drugs in his system. Dj then revealed to me that the other guy was over there as well..his mom confirmed to me that the other person did physically die as a result of the collision. Then Dj surprised us both. He mentioned that the other person was standing next to him and was saying that he’s sorry, he’s so sorry about everything. Lisa nodded in hearing the apology.
When responding to a question from his mom, Dj confirmed that she should do what she needed to do in relation to the trial and just know that he would be there with her. He talked of missing his mom and his dad but followed that up with confirming that he’s always with them. He talked about his sister, sharing evidentiary detail re her being older than him and that he saw her smoking when he was young and thought it so cool. He then mentioned his dad, calling him the number one in truck pulling. This is the point where Lisa tells me about his truck name being “Showtime”and that it was Dj’s truck that his dad had been pulling when he won first place in a competition. Dj chipped in here saying how proud he was of his dad.
Then, I heard what I thought was talking coming from Lisa’s room and wondered what had made the noise..a phone or oven setting maybe? Dj immediately commented that it had been a clock, the clock was talking. Lisa then showed me the clock, which was out of sight for me, a lovely moment of impromptu evidence.
Lisa then asks her son for their secret word, the family secret word. He did state it but I couldn’t hear it so he went on to explain the circumstances around how the word was chosen which was evidentiary in itself.
Though the other man had died instantly at the scene, Dj survived for just under an hour. Dj’s dad had been riding with him so was there by his son’s side. Dj had an important message for his dad. To make sure that his dad had no doubts about it being him conveying the message, he revealed important physical details from that time as he lay there, Lisa confirmed the details to be true. The message Dj had for his dad is shown below.
An incredible session on so many fronts.
