– Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.
The physical body dies, but we do not. Like many others, I don’t just believe this, I know it to be true. We come from the realm of spirit to experience life in human form, and when our time here ends, we transition back to spirit.
I remember having a conversation with Tommy during the final weeks of his earthly life about this very subject. He was aware of my connection to spirit and the work I did with others. As gently as he could, he shared his belief that physical death was the end, that we simply returned to dust. I smiled as I listened to him, respecting his beliefs at that time and feeling an overwhelming sense of love for him at that moment. My beautiful boy, with his innate, altruistic nature, gave so much of himself without any belief in a heavenly reward or recognition.
Soon after his passing, Tommy began making his presence known in remarkable ways. Reflecting on that conversation we had, I remember placing my hand gently on his urn and saying with a smile, “I bet you were surprised to discover that you continued to exist.” Little did I know of the extraordinary journey that lay ahead.
You can learn more about Tommy by clicking on one of the two links below. The first celebrates his life in human form, featuring the incredible eulogy his sister wrote and delivered at his funeral. You could have heard a pin drop as she spoke, every word captured Tommy’s essence so perfectly. It is a beautiful tribute to her brother. The second highlights some of my journey with Tommy since he transitioned, he has taught me so much and continues to take my breath away on an ongoing basis.
